As I was odd and crazy, I stumbled upon the industry just because I had an immense drive to grasp a good oral English. I didn't realize that first glance at the gate of New Oriental would got into me so deep. Working now as a "tutor" at Web International English in Nanchang, it seems my ability could not possibly get me out of this industry given the fact that I don't wanna lose my language edge. I wanna see this changed, but my mind need to push that change forward.

The list is companies which I have ever laid my eyes on and touched in person,

Company                                        My Account                 Company Type                      Headquarters
New Oriental, Nanchang Branch              as a trainee           public company (NYSE)             Beijing, China
New Oriental, Beijing Branch                    as a student          public company (NYSE)             Beijing, China
Smart Courses                                        as the founder      private unregistered                 Nanchang ,China
Ray's School, Nanchang Branch              as a trainee           private registered, incorporated     Nanchang, China
Wall Street English, Shanghai XJH Center   as a prospect         Pearson affiliated, global            United States
奥文英语                                                  as a interviewee         private                                    Shenzhen, China
English First, Shenzhen Diwang              as a salesman         private, global                            United States
METEN, Shenzhen Book Center              as a spy                  private, national                          Shenzhen, China
Wall Street English, Shenzhen Book Center   as a spy           Pearson affiliated, global            United States
Web International English, Nanchang      as a tutor                private, national                         Shanghai, China

In this highly fragmented industry, with millions of institutions scattered across China, you can hardly survive. Private institutions can not possibly hold one place for over a year. Turnover is soaring every where, no matter where the company's headquarters is in. Market is clearly segmented into two parts : traditional educational companies such as New Oriental and the blossoming oral and practical English trainers with its key players still controlling the coastal arch of China. The former is already saturated while the latter is expected to grow rapidly keeping abreast of Chinese people's hungry demands for a better future.
